Pirates and the profound

The late afternoon sunlight was breaking through the treetops, and I was trying to catch every last bit of it while waiting for Brendan's turn to throw axes. We decided to visit the pirate festival for Brendan's birthday, and it took me all of fifteen minute to spend the rest of my lunch money on a jangly belt. Two guys dressed like pirates kept talking to us in weird accents that I think were supposed to be french. Finally, the long-haired guy says, "who's future?" Brendan stopped confused for a second. The guy pointed at his shirt, which said music is the weapon of the future. Brendan looked down, "Oh, everyone's, I guess." Finally, the guy muttered something unintelligble, "... some people just don't get it, like I'm sick of people putting footage of violence and wars to John Lennon's Imagine."

I guess I never really thought of it like that.
